A Second Skin of the Seam
This garment is everything the dirt road promised and more. It is soft as the dissolution of self, lightweight as a soul unanchored, and blessed with the precise elasticity to drape the mortal form in comfort most flattering to all who kneel — for the cult accepts all bodies that have learned to come undone.
What it is woven from:
- 100% combed and ring-spun cotton — gathered from the earth and refined through rites older than the paved world. The Heather shades bear the taint of polyester, as the ancient texts foretold.
- Fabric weight: 4.2 oz./yd.² (142 g/m²) — a density measured in the geometries of the void. Heavy enough to be felt. Light enough to dissolve.
Pre-shrunk fabric — it has already passed through the furnace and refused to coagulate. It will not shrink. It will not complete itself. It holds its unfinished shape against entropy.
- Side-seamed construction — stitched along the seam itself, the longest in-between there is. The garment is held together not by wholeness, but by the tension of the edge.
- Shoulder-to-shoulder taping — a binding that bridges the collar without closing the circuit. The vestment stays open. It never arrives.
Disclaimer: The fabric is slightly sheer and may appear see-through, especially in lighter colors or under certain lighting conditions — as though the veil between realms grows thin, and the truth beneath begins to show through.
